Statistical analysis on domestic palm oil stocks and arrivals weekly(week 41, 2017)

I.Port stocks 
Cofeed News:till October 13th(this week), Chinese port stocks of edible palm oil amount to 437,700 tonnes, up 8.4% compared with last week's 403,700 tonnes, and up 29.5% against 338,000 tonnes last month, an increase of 99,700 tonnes; industrial palm oil stocks are 58,200 tonnes in total in Chinese major ports, up 8.9% from last week’s 53,400 tonnes, an increase of 4,800 tonnes. Port stocks of palm oil continue to be accumulated this week along with intensive arrivals of palm oil, especially in South China. Nevertheless, the blending of palm oil is seriously influenced as spots spread between soybeans and palm is plunged from 700 yuan/tonne($106) to 275 yuan/tonne($42), a sharp slide of 60.7%, and what worsens the situation is that domestic oil market are gloomy after the end of holidays and gradually colder weather. Later, domestic palm oil stocks are expected to go up, where about 0.5 Mln tonnes will have been reached by the end of October.

II.Arrivals
Imports of palm oil in September amount to 0.45-0.47 Mln tonnes(of which 24-degree palm oil 0.35 Mln tonnes, industrial palm oil 0.1-0.12 Mln tonnes), yet a weaker-than-expected yields of Malaysian palm oil has been impressive in market while imports hang upside down from October to December with a default in transaction. Consequently, imports of palm oil are expected to be 0.35-0.4 Mln tonnes in October(of which 24-degree palm oil 0.25-0.28 Mln tonnes, industrial palm oils 0.1-0.12 Mln tonnes); 0.35-0.37 Mln tonnes in November(of which 24-degree palm oil 0.25 Mln tonnes, industrial palm oil 0.1-0.12 Mln tonnes); 0.35-0.37 Mln tonnes in December(of which 24-degree palm oil 0.25 Mln tonnes, industrial palm oils 0.1-0.12 Mln tonnes). Arrivals of palm oil may change with the market, therefore information will be updated according to latest shipments and defaults.
