一. Import of rapeseed
According to General Administration of Customs, China has imported 295,100 tonnes of rapeseed in September 2017, down 7.3% over last month, but significantly up 52.5% over the same period last year. Though that registers a record low in year 2017 for the moment, imports are expected to be downsized further. On this very note, China's total imports of rapeseed are 3,652,200 tonnes from January to September, higher by 23.5% over the same period last year. Yet, annual imports in 2017/18 amount to 1,551,800 tonnes, with a year-on-year growth of 26.5%. Import reduction in the civil year and the 2017/18 crop year mainly derives form the trade friction between China and Canada last year.

二. Import of rapeseed meal
According to customs data, China has imported 83,300 tonnes of rapeseed meal at ports in September 2017, slightly down 5.2% against last month, but significantly plunging by 35.3% year on year. Overall, imports of rapeseed meal from January to September this year amount to 719,700 tonnes, surging 1.04 times from last year when imports were stumbled by policies. China's total imports of rapeseed meal in the first four months in 2017/18 add up to 360,100 tonnes, with a substantial increase of over 47.6% the same period of year 2016/17. Despite the fact that import of rapeseed meal is downsized in September, stockpiles still maintain at a record high.

三. Import of rapeseed oil
According to customs data, China has imported 30,300 tonnes of rapeseed oil in September 2017, down one third from 41,300 tonnes attained in the previous month, while total imports from January to September this year add up to 610,900 tonnes, jumping 21.86% from 501,300 tonnes the same period in year 2016, with an increase of 109,600 tonnes. At this point, China's imports of rapeseed oil amount to 209,800 tonnes in 2017/18 (from June to May in 2018), up 67.17% with an increase of 84,300 tonnes over the previous year, which somewhat registers an obvious rebound.
