As operation rate goes up in China’s oil mills this week (Dec. 16th-Dec. 22nd), national soybean crush now totals 2,071,050 tonnes (1,646,484 tonnes of soybean meal, 372,789 tonnes of soybean oil), increasing by 7.35% from last week’s 1,929,150 tonnes, with a rise of 141,900 tonnes. Meantime, crush capacity utilization rises to 60.64%, 4.15 percentage points higher than last week’s 56.49%. In general, oil mills resume operation one after another after roughly one-week machine halt, therefore operating rate is seen lifted, moreover, soybean weekly crush may keep around at 2 Mln tonnes as the rate keeps at a higher level in the next two weeks with sufficient soybean supplies.

Soybean crush in year 2017/2018 (as of 1 October 2017) has amounted to 21,908,970 tonnes, 9.73% or 1,943,451 tonnes higher than the figure attained in year 2016/17 of 19,965,519 tonnes. While soybean crush in 2017 (as of January 1, 2017) has totaled 87,524,900 tonnes, an increase of 7,966,311 tonnes, or 10.01%, from the 79,558,589 tonnes for the same period in 2016.
