China’s import of soybean oil in December 2017
Cofeed News: imports of soybean oil in December are seen higher than those in November, generally, December imports total 32,527 tonnes and all are non-GM soybean oil, but it is worth noticing that few importers now prefer imported soybean oil for direct use in consideration of profits. Domestic soybean oil in commercial stocks in December has hit a fresh high of 1.69 Mln tonnes in light of high operation rate and large soybean arrival at home the time supply pressure is considerable. To be honest, most oil mills in China mainly consume their own production of soybean oil.
According to customs data, December imports of soybean oil amount to 32,527 tonnes, up 16,390 tonnes from November's 16,137 tonnes by 101.57%, but the figure is 4,186 tonnes less than the same month of last year (36,713 tonnes) by 11.4%.
Details for China’s imports of soybean oil in December: 24,843 tonnes from Russian Federation, 4,817 tonnes from Ukraine, 2,095 tonnes from Turkey, 657 tonnes from Argentina, 77 tonnes from Vietnam, 26 tonnes from the United States, 9 tonnes from Netherlands and 3 tonnes from Greece.
Average prices for soybean oil in December settle at USD $860.82 per tonne, up USD $1.49 per tonne from November’s USD $859.33 in 2017, while CIF price stays at 6,963 yuan/tonne, unchanged compared with November’s.
