Cofeed News: according to customs data, December imports of soybeans amounted to 9,550,000 tonnes, an increase of 9.96% over last month and 6.13% over the same period last year. USA is the largest supplier for China’s imports, to be specific, about 6,189,320 tonnes of imported soybeans in December were from USA, while roughly 1,941,927 tonnes came from Brazil, the second largest supplier for soybean imports. Overall, China had imported 95,526,045 tonnes of soybeans in year 2017, a year-on-year growth of 13.84%.
Details for China’s imports of soybeans in December: 6,189,320 tonnes from USA, 1,941,927 tonnes from Brazil, 639,970 tonnes from Argentina, 153,433 tonnes from Uruguay, 526,197 tonnes from Canada, 90,469 tonnes from Russian Federation, 2,090 tonnes from Ethiopia, 2,216 tonnes from Kazakhstan, 2,216 tonnes from Ukraine and 511 tonnes from Malawi.
December imports of soybeans totaled 7,606,422 tonnes, pricing at USD $418.48 per tonne on average, up USD $2.04 per tonne from USD $416.44 in November 2017.
