China Soybean Crush Weekly (Week 8, 2018)
Since operation rate reaches a nadir in China’s oil mills during Chinese new year (Feb. 17th- Feb. 23rd), national soybean crush now amounts to 251,300 tonnes (199,783.5 tonnes of soybean meal, 45,234 tonnes of soybean oil), down 58.90% or 360,150 tonnes less from 611,450 tonnes in week 7 (Feb. 10th- Feb. 16th) and down 86.99% or 1,680,500 tonnes below as compared to 1,931,800 in week 6. Meantime, soybean crush capacity utilization is dented to 7.36%, 10.55 percentage points lower than 17.91% in week 7 and 49.2 percentage points lower than 56.56% in week 6.
Soybean crush in year 2017/2018 (as of 1 October 2017) has now amounted to 35,971,220 tonnes, 6.05% or 2,052,243 tonnes higher than 33,918,977 tonnes attained in year 2016/17. While soybean crush in civil year 2018 (as of January 1, 2018) has totaled 11,635,600 tonnes, a growth of 3.6% or 414,421 tonnes from 11,221,179 tonnes the same period in year 2017.
