Cofeed News: according to customs data, January imports of soybeans amounted to 8,480,000 tonnes, decreasing by 11.20% compared to 9,550,000 tonnes attained in December 2017 with 1,070,000 tonnes lower, but with comparison to January a year ago, imports increase by 10.78% with a growth of 824,900 tonnes from 7,655,100 tonnes. Generally, USA is the largest supplier for China’s imports, to be specific, about 5,816,287 tonnes soybeans in January were imported from USA, while roughly 2,074,494 tonnes came from Brazil, the second largest supplier for China’s soybean imports.
Overall, China had imported 32,574,200 tonnes of soybeans in year 2017/2018 (as from October 2017), a year-on-year growth of 9.70% or 2,873,900 tonnes from 29,700,300 tonnes.

January imports of soybeans price at USD $420.75 per tonne on average, up USD $2.27 per tonne from USD $418.48 in December 2017.
