China’s import of palm oil in February 2018

    According to customs data, February imports of palm oil were around 373,342 tonnes, falling 94,787 tonnes by 20.2% from 468,129 tonnes in January. But as opposed to 339,657 tonnes in February of year 2017, it is still up 9.9% and 33,685 tonnes above. To be specific, China imported 240,485.087 tonnes of 24-degree palm oil, down 100,713.63 tonnes from 341,198.717 tonnes attained in January and 132,369.746 tonnes of 44-degree palm oil with a rise of 10,386.826 tonnes when compared with January’s 121,982.92 tonnes.

    Details for China’s imports of palm oil in February: 258,184 tonnes from Indonesia, down 61,744 tonnes by 19.3% from January’s 319,928 tonnes, but up 45,952 tonnes by 21.6% from 212,232 tonnes on a year-on-year basis; about 115,033 tonnes from Malaysia, decreasing by 22.3% or 33,080 tonnes below from 148,113 tonnes in January, and down 12,364 tonnes by 9.7% from 127,397 tonnes the same month of last year; about 124 tonnes from Thailand.
