China’s Soybean Crush Weekly (Week 18, 2018)

2018-05-07 www.cofeed.com
Since the operation rate in oil mills falls further this week (Apr. 28th-May 4th) attributed to less soybean meal delivery and increasing idle plants after bloated meals in mills, national soybean crush this week is around 1,481,250 tonnes (1,177,593 tonnes of soybean meal, 266,625 tonnes of soybean oil), generally decreasing by 13.81% or 237,500 tonnes vis-a-vis 1,718,750 tonnes last week. Meantime, soybean processing capacity utilization falls to 43.27%, 7.03 percentage points lower than 50.33% last week. Generally speaking, total soybean crush in week 19 is basically around 1.5 Mln tonnes, and 1.68 Mln tonnes in week 20 based on good crush margins and anticipated eased pressure on stockpiles.

Soybean crush in year 2017/2018 (as from 1 October 2017) has now totaled 52,370,920 tonnes, 4.56% or 2,284,543 tonnes higher than 50,086,377 tonnes attained in year 2016/17. While national soybean crush in year 2018 (as from 1 January 2018) has increased to 28,035,300 tonnes, a growth of 2.37% or 649,721 tonnes as compared to 27,385,579 tonnes year on year.
