Cottonseed meal: US soybean ran higher last Friday. Domestically, severe freezing injury in Northeast and Inner Mongolia may drag down soybean production, while escalating trade war has tightened long-term soybean supply. So meals soar on DCE, followed by soybean meal spot price to increase by 30-70. And cottonseed meal price is also stable with some rising by by 30, for its limited supply over growing consumption in poultry before double holidays. On the whole, cottonseed market will continue its upward trend despite some fluctuations before new cottonseed meal enters into market. But this trend may be flat due to the deadly African swine fever, so buyers shall make replenishment on the dips.
Cottonseed oil: Today, soybean oil on DCE gets a small rise, with its spot price to increase by 10-30. And cottonseed oil keeps gaining support from a low operation rate in cottonseed oil mills and a bullish oil market due to the worrisome long-term supply under trade disputes, especially at this point that the serious freezing injury in Northeast and Inner Mongolia may cut down soybean production. But due to the existing oversupply pressure of staple oils, blending volume of cottonseed oil is also restricted, thus its price is hard to soar. Cottonseed oil price may go up steadily in fluctuations before the end of trade disputes.
Cottonseed: Cottonseed prices keep stable today, with some increasing by 0.01-0.04 yuan/kg, since cottonseed supply is scarce in mainland China and cottonseed volumes transported from Xinjiang is also small, whilst trade disputes have no end in sight.Today, soybean meals and oils see general rises, followed by cottonseed meals and oils, though not significantly. So cottonseed prices also get a rise, but just slightly, due to its dismal crush profits, and lower quality of old cottonseeds than ever, as well as oil owners’ caution against those scattered washy new cottonseeds.
