China's Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 36, 2018)
Coastal mills generally are seen a sharp decrease in operation rate this week, given a number of mills encounter equipment failure at the time. Rapeseed crush of 101 mills counted in the national survey in week 36 (Sept. 1st- 7th) thereby is cut from 136,830 tonnes to 105,830 tonnes, down 31,000 tonnes by 22.7%. Meantime the operation rate for rapeseed crush (capacity utilization) this week also drops from 27.31% to 21.12%, among which the operation rate of domestic rapeseed still settles at 1.8% and that of imported rapeseed in coastal processing mills otherwise shrinks to 48.91% from 63.92% last week. Generally speaking, rapeseed crush will probably edge down to 113,000 tonnes and 119,000 tonnes or so respectively in the next two weeks-- still a high level, if some mills resume operation.
