Operation Rate and Crush Volume in Cottonseed Oil Mills (Week 39, 2018)
This week (22nd-28th Sept), operation rate continues its growth in domestic cottonseed oil mills, mainly in Shandong. Among 136 oil mills surveyed by Cofeed, 15 oil mills are in operation (some are not in full state) this week. The crush volume of cottonseed in domestic oil mills amounts to 27,850 tonnes (cotton oil to 3,063.5 tonnes, cottonseed meal to 13,368 tonnes, cottonseed hull to 6,962.5 tonnes, and cotton linter to around 3,342 tonnes), up 3,210 tonnes by 13.03% from 24,640 tonnes last week; and it is an increase of 6,760 tonnes by 32.05% against 21,090 tonnes of the corresponding period last year. Operation rate in cottonseed oil mills this week is 7.83%, up 0.27% from 6.93% last week, and up 1.90% from 5.93% of the corresponding period last year. As some oil mills have a downtime schedule under thin crush margins and some will have a break during the National Day next week, the operation rate may step down slightly.
