Operation Rate and Crush Volume in Cottonseed Oil Mills (Week 40, 2018)
This week (29th Sept-5th Oct), operation rate steps down in domestic cottonseed oil mills, mainly due to the downtime of some mills in Xiajin, Shandong from October 1st-5th over National Day. Among 136 oil mills surveyed by Cofeed, 14 oil mills are in operation (some are even not in full state) this week. The stock of cottonseed crush volume in domestic oil mills amounts to 15,700 tonnes (cotton oil to 1,727 tonnes, cottonseed meal to 7,536 tonnes, cottonseed hull to 3,925 tonnes, and cotton linter to around 1,884 tonnes), down 12,150 tonnes from last week’s 27,850 tonnes by 43.63%; and it declines 8,110 tonnes by 34.06% against 23,810 tonnes of the corresponding period last year. Operation rate in cottonseed oil mills this week is 4.41%, down 3.42% from 7.83% last week, and down 2.28% from 6.69% of the corresponding period last year. he operation rate is predicted to pick up next week as mills in Xiajin, Shandong have basically resumed on October 6th, and some oil mills in Xinjiang will also start production as new cottonseed enters into market gradually.
