China’s Soybean Crush Weekly (Week 44, 2018)
This week (Oct 27th-Nov 2nd), operation rate enters the downturn from high levels, for some oil mills have halted or restricted production for maintenance plans, soybean shortages, or great storage burden of soybean meal. Soybean crush volume in domestic refineries totals 1,865,100 tonnes (meal 1,473,429 tonnes and oil 354,369 tonnes), dropping 150,300 tonnes by 7.45% from 2,015,400 tonnes last week. The operation rate (capability utilization) is 53.25%, down 4.29% from 57.54% last week. As some areas have limited or suspended production for slow delivery of soybean meal, crush volume will continue to decline next week (week 45) to around 1.80 Mln tonnes, but it will pick up again to 1.86 Mln tonnes in week 46.
Till now, domestic soybean crush volume in 2018/2019 (dating from Oct 1st, 2018) totals 8,840,385 tonnes, up 672,458 tonnes by 8.2% from 8,167,927 tonnes a year earlier. In 2018 (dating from Jan 1st, 2018), domestic soybean crush volume amounts to 74,279,250 tonnes, up 97,651 tonnes by 0.13% from 74,181,599 tonnes of the same period in 2017.
