China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 47, 2018)
This week (Nov. 17th-23rd), as operation rate in coastal oil mills has dropped again for swollen rapeseed oil inventory and rapeseed shortage, the crush volume in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has decreased to 96,560 tonnes (imported rapeseed 89,000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 7,560 tonnes), down 13,000 tonnes by 11.9% from 109,560 tonnes last week. The operation rate (capability utilization) is 19.27% this week as against 21.87% last week, of which it remains stable at 2.81% for domestic rapeseed; and it is 43.1% for imported rapeseed in coastal areas versus 49.39% last week. The crush volume will dwindle to 68,000 tonnes for swollen rapeseed oil inventories in some oil mills next week (week 48), but will rise back to 115,000 tonnes amid easing inventory pressure and the arrival of rapeseed at ports in week 49.
