China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 49, 2018)
This week (Dec. 1st-7th), as operation rate has picked up largely in coastal oil mills, the crush volume in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has increased to 101,150 tonnes (imported rapeseed 98,000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 3,150 tonnes), up 42,590 tonnes by 72.7% from 58,560 tonnes last week. The operation rate (capability utilization) is 20.99% this week, of which it is 1.17% for domestic rapeseed, and as a contrast, it was separately at 11.69% and 2.81% last week; and it is 47.46% for imported rapeseed in coastal areas versus 24.7% last week. Facing swelling inventories of rapeseed oil and meal as well as rapeseed shortages, the crush volume will decrease fractionally to 96,000 tonnes and 91,000 tonnes in week 50 and week 51, respectively.
