I. Rapeseed: stock and port arrival
This week (as of Apr. 12th), total rapeseed inventories have increased to 723,000 tonnes in domestic coastal areas, up 83,000 tonnes by 12.97% from 640,000 tonnes last week and up by 34.6% from 537,000 tonnes of the same period last year. Among them, stock in Guangxi, Guangdong and Fujian has risen by 18.14% to 560,000 tonnes from 474,000 tonnes last week and by 37.6% from 407,000 tonnes of the same week in the previous year. As the import is impeded by tensions between China and Canada, port arrival of rapeseed is 180,000 tonnes in April and 10,000 tonnes from Australia (container) amid cancellation of shipments in May, according to Cofeed. And there are currently several cargoes waiting to be discharged after commodity inspection at port. Importers are expected to buy new cargoes only after a thaw in relations between Beijing and Ottawa.
