      I. Rapeseed: stock and port arrival

This week (as of Apr. 19th), total rapeseed inventories have fallen to 649,000 tonnes in domestic coastal areas, down 74,000 tonnes by 10.24% from 723,000 tonnes last week yet up by 9.81% from 591,000 tonnes of the same period last year. Among them, stock in Guangxi, Guangdong and Fujian has reduced by 13.21% to 486,000 tonnes from 560,000 tonnes last week yet up by 14.89% from 423,000 tonnes of the same week in the previous year. As the import is impeded by tensions between China and Canada, port arrival of rapeseed is 180,000 tonnes in April and 10,000 tonnes from Australia (container) amid cancellation of shipments in May, according to Cofeed. And there are currently several cargoes waiting to be discharged after commodity inspection at port. Importers are expected to buy new cargoes only after a thaw in relations between Beijing and Ottawa.
