China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 18, 2019)
Amid a further sharp decline in utilization rate, rapeseed crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed this week (Apr. 26th-May 3rd) has dropped to 29,310 tonnes (imported rapeseed 27,000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 2,310 tonnes), down 24,600 tonnes by 45.6% from 53,910 tonnes last week. Meanwhile, utilization rate (capability utilization) has fallen to 5.85% from 10.76%, of which it remains at 1.98% for domestic rapeseed; and it has declined to 13.08% from 24.99% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal areas. Rapeseed crush will fall further to 27,000 tonnes next week as some oil mills have to halt for swelling meal stockpiles, but it will pick up to 67,000 tonnes the following week as several mills will resume their operation.
