      I. Rapeseed: stock and port arrival

This week (as of May 3rd), total rapeseed inventories have piled up higher to 748,400 tonnes in domestic coastal areas, an increment of 4,000 tonnes by 0.54% from 744,400 tonnes last week and by 26.64% from 591,000 tonnes of the same period last year. Among them, stock in Guangxi, Guangdong and Fujian has increased by 0.73% to 555,400 tonnes from 551,400 tonnes last week and by 2% from 459,000 tonnes of the same week in the previous year. As the import is impeded by tensions between China and Canada, port arrival of rapeseed is 117,000 tonnes in April, and 65,000 tonnes for Shenheng and 10,000 tonnes from Australia (container) amid cancellation of shipments in May, according to Cofeed. And there are currently several cargoes waiting to be discharged after commodity inspection at port. Importers are expected to buy new cargoes only after a thaw in relations between Beijing and Ottawa.
