In response to the announcement of the U.S. Trade Representative that it would impose an additional tariff of 10 percent on approximately $300 billion of Chinese imports, China’s State Council Tariff Committee said that the U.S. tariffs seriously violated a consensus reached by leaders of two countries at the G-20 summit in Argentina and Osaka, and deviated from the right track of negotiations to resolve differences. China will have to take the necessary counter-measures.
