China’s Customs: soybean imports down 9.2% from a year earlier
According to data released by China’s Customs, China imported 9.481 mln tonnes of soybeans in August, 2019, and the accumulative soybean imports amounted to 56.315 mln tonnes from January to August, down by 9.2% from 61.999 mln tonnes of the corresponding period last year.
China imported 907,000 tonnes of edible oils in August, and the accumulative imports totaled 5.818 mln tonnes from January to August, a sharp increase of 50.2% from 3.873 mln tonnes of the same period last year.
