The United States had postponed the deadline of additional tariffs on $250 billion worth of Chinese goods to Oct. 15 from Oct 1. On the regular press conference today, Gao Feng, the spokesperson of China’s Ministry of Commerce, said that China welcomed such kind of goodwill released by the U.S. side, and Chinese firms were said to have begun to make inquiries on buying US farm products, including soybean and pork. We hoped China and the United States would meet each other halfway to create favorable conditions for our negotiations, he added.
