This week (Sept 6-12), hog price nationwide keeps the upward trend. As of this Thursday, the average price index is 28.84 yuan/kg, an increase of 0.54 yuan/kg or 1.91% from 28.30 yuan/kg last Friday and an increase of 14.67 yuan/kg or 103.53% from 14.17 yuan/kg the corresponding period last year.

The hog price this week further goes up. The income increases while feed cost decreases. However, the breeding margins lower on an obvious rise of piglet cost. The average profit of per pig breeding is 1212.72 yuan this week, down by 5.1% from 1278.47 yuan last week and up by 616.3% or 1043.42 yuan from 169.3 yuan of the same period last year.
