China’s Customs: China's foreign trade up 2.8 pct in first three quarters

China’s total foreign trade volume reached 22.91 trillion yuan (about USD $3.23 trillion) in the first three quarters, a growth of 2.8% year on year. Exports expanded 5.2% to 1.48 trillion yuan, while imports fell 0.1% to 10.43 trillion yuan, with the trade surplus expanded by 44.2% year on year to 2.05 trillion yuan, according to the General Administration of Customs. In September alone, total import and export value was down 3.3% to 2.78 trillion yuan, of which the export was down 0.7% to 1.53 trillion yuan and the import was down 6.2% to 1.25 trillion yuan.
