China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 45, 2019)
This week (Nov. 2-8), operation rates continue to drop among domestic coastal oil mills. Thereby, rapeseed crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has totaled 41,460 tonnes (imported rapeseed 39,500 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 1,960 tonnes), down 5,000 tonnes by 10.76% from 46,460 tonnes last week. Meanwhile, the operation rate (capability utilization) has moved down to 8.28% from 9.27% last week, of which it remains at 0.73% for domestic rapeseed; and it has gone lower to 19.13% from 21.55% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal regions. The supply of imported rapeseed is decreasing as the import still gets impeded by pending issues between China and Canada. The crush is predicted to fall slightly to 40,000 tonnes next week and to 28,000 tonnes that following week as most mills will suspend production amid rapeseed shortages.
