China imported 7.85 million tonnes of grain in October 2019, down 7.1% from a year earlier; China imported 910,000 tonnes of edible vegetable oils in in October 2019, up 93.7% from a year earlier; China imported 535,000 tonnes of meat, up 68.5% from a year earlier; China imported 410,000 tonnes of aquatic products, up 33.3% from a year earlier, according to latest data released by China’s Customs for October.
Grain imports total 89.58 million tonnes from January to October 2019, a year-on-year decline of 11.9%. Among them,
Soybean imports total 70.69 million tonnes, down 8.1% from a year earlier;
Edible vegetable oils imports total 7.57 million tonnes, up 53.7% from a year earlier;
Meat like pork and beef imports total 4.84 million tonnes, up 38% from a year earlier;
Aquatic products imports total 3.53 million tonnes, up 28% from a year earlier.
