China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 48, 2019)
This week (Nov. 23-29), operation rates for rapeseed crush continues to fall in coastal regions. The crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has totaled 11000 tonnes (imported rapeseed 11000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 0 tonne), a reduction of 25960 tonnes by 70.24% from 36,960 tonnes last week. Meanwhile, the operation rate (capability utilization) has moved down to 2.2% from 7.38% last week, of which it is 0% for domestic rapeseed against 0.73% last week; and it has gone lower to 5.33% from 16.95% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal regions. The crush will increase slightly to 20,000 tonnes next week as some mills will see new rapeseed arrivals, but will fractionally decrease again to 19,000 tonnes that following week. Due to rapeseed shortages, the overall crush remains at a relatively low level at present.
