China’s Customs: China's foreign trade at 28.5 trillion yuan in first 11 months, up 2.4% y/y

China’s total foreign trade volume reached 28.5 trillion yuan in the first 11 months, a growth of 2.4% year on year, and private enterprises have become the largest foreign trade entity in China, according to data released by China’s General Administration of Customs on December 8th.

Among them, exports totaled 15.55 trillion yuan, up 4.5% year on year and imports were little changed at 12.95 trillion yuan, with the trade surplus expanded by 34.9% year on year to 2.6 trillion yuan.

In November, China’s foreign trade volume totaled 2.86 trillion yuan, up 1.8%. Among them, exports were up 1.3% to 1.57 trillion yuan and imports were up 2.5% to 1.29 trillion yuan, with the trade surplus narrowed by 4.1% year on year to 274.21 billion yuan.

In USD terms, China’s total foreign trade volume totaled 4.14 trillion in the first 11 months, down 2.2%. Among them, exports were down 0.3% to 2.26 trillion and imports were down 4.5% to 1.88 trillion, with the trade surplus expanded 28.4% to 377.6 billion. 

In USD terms, China’s foreign trade volume totaled 404.75 billion in November, down 0.5%. Among them, exports were down 1.1% to 221.75 billion and imports were up 0.3% to 183.01 billion, with the trade surplus narrowed by 7.5% year on year to 38.73 billion.
