China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 49, 2019)
Coastal mills significantly raise operation rates this week (Nov. 30-Dec. 6). The crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has totaled 43,000 tonnes (imported rapeseed 43,000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 0 tonne), an increase of 32,000 tonnes by 290.9% from 11,000 tonnes last week. Meanwhile, the operation rate (capability utilization) has moved higher to 8.58% from 2.2% last week, of which it remains at 0% for domestic rapeseed; and it has gone up to 20.82% from 5.33% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal regions. The crush will increase further to 44,000 tonnes next week as some mills resume production, but will probably decrease again to 38,000 tonnes that following week for a lack of rapeseed. Due to rapeseed shortages, the overall crush remains at a relatively low level at present.
