NBS: Nov CPI up 4.5% y/y, pork prices up 110.2% y/y

In November 2019, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 4.5% from a year earlier, with an increase of 4.2% in urban and 5.5% in rural area. The food prices went up by 19.1%, with an increase of 110.2% in pork prices, and the non-food prices increased 1.0%. The prices of consumer goods moved higher by 6.5% and the prices of services grew by 1.2%. From January to November, on average, the overall consumer prices were up by 2.8% from the same period of the previous year.

In November, the consumer prices increased by 0.4% month on month, with an increase of 0.3% in urban and 0.5% in rural area. Among them, the price of foodstuff went up by 1.8%, non-foodstuff kept unchanged, and consumer goods went up by 0.8%, while services went down by 0.4%. (source: National Bureau of Statistics)
