China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 2, 2020)
This week (Jan. 4-10), with a sharp decline in operation rates among coastal regions, the crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has totaled 14,000 tonnes (imported rapeseed 14,000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 0 tonne), down 17,000 tonnes or 54.84% from 31,000 tonnes last week. Meanwhile, the operation rate (capability utilization) has gone down to 2.79% from 6.19% last week, of which it is 0% for domestic rapeseed; and it has moved lower to 6.78% from 15.01% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal regions. The crush is forecast to slightly increase to 22,000 tonnes next week as some mills resume production, but will fall again to 14,000 tonnes for a lack of rapeseed supply. Due to rapeseed shortages, the overall crush remains at a relatively low level at present.
