Weekly Hog Price and Breeding Margins in China (Week 3, 2020)
I.Hog Price
This week (Jan. 10, 2020-Jan. 17, 2020), hog price nationwide goes up with fluctuations. As of this Friday, the average price index is 36.61 yuan/kg, an increase of 0.19 yuan/kg or 0.50% from 36.42 yuan/kg last Friday and an increase of 25.13 yuan/kg or 218.90% from 11.48 yuan/kg the same period last year.

II. Breeding Margins
This week, nationwide average profit of per pig breeding up by 260.81 yuan or 17.60% to 1740.07 yuan from 1479.26 yuan last week; that up by 1717.11 yuan or 7478.70% from 22.96 yuan the same period last year. The slaughter weight this week rises to 120-130 kg compared to 115-120 kg last week, leading a more obvious increase in breeding margins.
