Starting from March 2nd, China will accept the application for the exemption of additional tariffs on US agricultural products, including soybeans, wheat, corn and sorghum, according to an announcement by the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council on Tuesday.

This round of tariff exemption covers 696 US products, including farm produce. Any Chinese enterprise that intends to sign a contract to import relevant products from the US can submit the application. The Customs Tariff Commission will not impose retaliatory tariffs against US Section 301 within a certain of period on US products that are imported in line with conditions and in accordance with the principle of marketization and commercialization. This move is to meet the growing demand of domestic consumers.
