China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 8, 2020)
This week (Feb. 15-21), there is a slight decrease in operation rates among coastal mills. Rapeseed crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has totaled 40,000 tonnes (imported rapeseed 40,000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 0 tonne), down 1,000 tonnes or 2.44% from 41,000 tonnes last week. Meanwhile, the operation rate (capability utilization) goes down to 7.98% this week from 8.18% last week, of which it is 0% for domestic rapeseed; and it moves lower to 19.37% this week from 19.85% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal regions. The crush is predicted to fall to 31,000 tonnes next week amid downtime. But to increase to 36,000 tonnes that following week as some mills resume production. Due to rapeseed shortages, the overall crush remains at a relatively low level at present.
