This week (Feb. 22-28), there is a sharp decrease in operation rates among coastal mills. Rapeseed crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has totaled 25,000 tonnes (imported rapeseed 25,000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 0 tonne), down 15,000 tonnes or 37.5% from 40,000 tonnes last week. Meanwhile, the operation rate (capability utilization) goes down to 4.99% this week from 7.98% last week, of which it is 0% for domestic rapeseed; and it moves lower to 12.11% this week from 19.37% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal regions. As mills resume production in the next two weeks, the crush is predicted to increase to 31,000 tonnes and 50,000 tonnes, respectively. Due to rapeseed shortages, the overall crush remains at a relatively low level at present.
