China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 13, 2020)

Following a fall in operation rates among coastal mills this week (Mar. 21-27), rapeseed crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has totaled 44,000 tonnes (imported rapeseed 44,000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 0 tonne), down 8,000 tonnes or 15.38% from 52,000 tonnes last week. Meanwhile, the operation rate (capability utilization) goes down to 8.78% this week from 10.38% last week, of which it is 0% for domestic rapeseed; and it moves lower to 21.31% this week from 25.18% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal regions. The crush is expected to pick up to 47,000 tonnes and 50,500 tonnes separately in the next two weeks as several mills will resume operations. Due to rapeseed shortages, the overall crush remains at a relatively low level at present.
