China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 15, 2020)
With a further pickup in operation rates among coastal regions this week (Apr. 4-10), rapeseed crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has totaled 64,000 tonnes (imported rapeseed 64,000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 0 tonne), up 11,000 tonnes or 20.75% from 53,000 tonnes last week. Meanwhile, the operation rate (capability utilization) goes up to 12.77% this week from 10.58% last week, of which it is 0% for domestic rapeseed; and it moves higher to 30.99% this week from 25.67% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal regions. As several mills will be in downtime for a lack of rapeseed, the crush will fall to 56,000 tonnes and 50,000 tonnes in the next two weeks, respectively. Due to rapeseed shortages, the overall crush remains at a relatively low level at present.
