China’s Customs: meat products imports rose sharply in the 1st quarter, especially from the US
China’s pork imports totaled 951,000 tonnes in the first quarter, a rise of 1.7 times.
Alongside the implement of the Phase 1 trade deal between China and the United States, the imports such as soybean, pork and cotton from the US all stepped on a rapid growth.
In the first quarter, imports of US agricultural commodities totaled 35.56 bln CNY, a rise of 1.1 times. Among them, soybean imports were 7.814 mln tonnes or 21.88 bln CNY; pork imports were 168,000 tonnes or 3.04 bln CNY; and cotton imports were 124,000 tonnes or 1.59 bln CNY.
