China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 17, 2020)
Operation rates are slightly lower among coastal regions this week (Apr. 18-24), rapeseed crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has totaled 60,000 tonnes (imported rapeseed 60,000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 0 tonne), down 4,000 tonnes or 6.25% from 64,000 tonnes from last week. Meanwhile, the operation rate (capability utilization) is 11.98% this week compared to 12.77% last week, of which it is 0% for domestic rapeseed; and it moves down to 29.06% this week from 30.99% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal regions. As several mills will be in downtime for a lack of rapeseed, the crush will fall to 535,000 tonnes and 435,000 tonnes in the next two weeks, respectively. Due to rapeseed shortages, the overall crush remains at a relatively low level at present.
