China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 18, 2020)
Operation rates are further declining among coastal regions this week (Apr 25-May 1), rapeseed crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has totaled 43,000 tonnes (imported rapeseed 43,000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 0 tonne), down 17,000 tonnes or 28.3% from 60,000 tonnes from last week. Meanwhile, the operation rate (capability utilization) is 8.58% this week compared to 11.98% last week, of which it is 0% for domestic rapeseed; and it moves down to 20.82% this week from 29.06% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal regions. As several mills are set to resume production in the next two weeks, the crush will fall to 510,000 tonnes and 560,000 tonnes, respectively. Due to rapeseed shortages, the overall crush remains at a relatively low level at present.
