China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 19, 2020)
As mills in coastal regions have slightly picked up operation rates this week (May 2-8), rapeseed crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed has totaled 57,000 tonnes (imported rapeseed 57,000 tonnes and domestic rapeseed 0 tonne), up 14,000 tonnes or 32.56% from 43,000 tonnes from last week. Meanwhile, the operation rate (capability utilization) is 11.38% this week compared to 8.58% last week, of which it is 0% for domestic rapeseed; and it moves higher to 27.6% this week from 20.82% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal regions. Rapeseed crush will increase to 62,000 tonnes as mills will resume production next week, but it will fall to 56,000 tonnes that following week for a lack of rapeseed. Overall, due to rapeseed shortages, the crush remains at a relatively low level at present.
