China’s Customs: April palm oil imports up 7.5% m/m

China imported 324955.989 tonnes of palm oil in April, an increase of 22753.726 tonnes or 7.5% from 302202.263 tonnes in the previous month, yet a reduction of 141489.244 tonnes or 30.33% from 466445.233 tonnes in April, 2019, according to data by China's General Administration of Customs.

Of them, palm olein imports total 225437.37 tonnes in April, up 5291.719 tonnes from 220145.651 tonnes in March; Palm stearin imports total 99518.619 tonnes in April, up 17642.004 tonnes from 82056.615 tonnes in March.

Jan-April palm oil imports total 1499321.982 tonnes in 2020, down 661583.453 tonnes or 30.62% from 2160905.435 tonnes in the corresponding period last year.


In April, 2020, China imported 176640.146 tonnes of palm oil from Indonesia, a month-on-month increase of 34281.198 tonnes from 142358.948 tonnes, yet a year-on-year reduction of 144877.434 tonnes or 45.06% from 321517.58 tonnes; and it imported 148010.383 tonnes from Malaysia, a month-on-month reduction of 11832.932 tonnes from 159843.315 tonnes, yet a year-on-year increase of 3165.809 tonnes or 2.2% from 144844.574 tonnes.
