In June 2020, China’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 2.5% from a year earlier, with an increase of 2.2% in urban and 3.2% in rural area, according to the National Bureau of Statistics of China. The food prices up by 11.1% and the non-food prices up by 0.3%. The prices of consumer goods grew by 3.5% and the prices of services increased by 0.7%. In the first half of the year, the CPI was up 3.8% from the corresponding period last year.
Besides, the CPI was down 0.1% from the previous month, with a decrease of 0.1% in urban but no change in rural area. The food prices advanced by 0.2%, and the non-food prices declined by 0.1%. The prices of consumer goods were flat and the prices of services were down 0.1% from last month.
