I. Rapeseed: stocks and port arrivals

This week (ending Aug 7), China’s rapeseed inventory totals 354,000 tonnes in coastal areas, up 16,000 tonnes or 4.73% from 338,000 tonnes last week and up 4.73% from 338,000 tonnes of the corresponding period last year. Among them, stock in Guangxi, Guangdong and Fujian is 354,000 tonnes, up 4.73% from 338,000 tonnes last week and up by 51.28% from 234,000 tonnes of the same week in the previous year.

China’s rapeseed imports are small amid a stalemate with Canada, but are centralized to only several private and foreign-funded companies. There will be 240,000 tonnes of rapeseed from Canada separately in August and September, according to data surveyed by Cofeed. It is less likely that China and Canada will see a thaw in relations very soon, as HUAWEI Meng Wanzhou is still not released by the Canadian court, and Canada even followed the United States to make groundless sanctions on Hong Kong due to the National Security Law. Besides, China and Australia are also in souring relations. Hence, participants can keep an eye on rapeseed imports.

II. Rapeseed oil stocks

This week (ending Aug 7), rapeseed oil stocks are 203,000 tonnes in domestic coastal regions, down 14,900 tonnes by 6.84% from 217,900 tonnes last week and down by 57.89% from 482,100 tonnes of the same period last year. More details for stocks:

III. Rapeseed meal stocks

This week (ending Aug 7), rapeseed meal stock has totaled 28,800 tonnes in domestic coastal regions, down 4,700 tonnes by 14.03% from 33,500 tonnes last week yet down by 46.67% from 54,000 tonnes of the same period last year. More details for stocks:
