China imported about 540,000 tonnes of sugar in September, down 140,000 tonnes or 20.59% from 680,000 tonnes in August, according to data by China's General Administration of Customs.

Sugar imports totaled 2.7764 mln tonnes in Jan-Sept 2020, a year-on-year increase of 381,600 tonnes or 15.93% from 2.3948 mln tonnes; As of September, 2019/20 sugar imports total 3.77 mln tonnes, a year-over-year increase of 500,000 tonnes or 15.29% from 3.27 mln tonnes.
