China imported about 880,000 tonnes of sugar in October to hit a single-month high in nearly 20 years, up 340,300 tonnes or 63.05% from 539,700 tonnes in September and up 426,700 tonnes or 94.13% to 453,300 tonnes a year earlier, according to data by China's General Administration of Customs.

Sugar imports totaled 3.6534 mln tonnes in Jan-Oct 2020, a year-on-year increase of 805,300 tonnes or 28.27% from 2.8481 mln tonnes.
