I. Production
In November 2020, China’s feed production totals 22.32 mln tonnes, a month-on-month decline of 6.3% and a year-on-year rise of 12.8%, according to China's Feed Industry Association.
In terms of products, hog feed production is 9.32 mln tonnes, a month-on-month reduction of 0.3% and a year-on-year growth of 53.1%, marking a sixth consecutive rise in term of year-over-year comparison. Egg-laying poultry feed production takes up 2.70 mln tonnes, a month-on-month decline of 5.1% and a year-on-year decline of 6.7%. Table poultry feed production is 7.53 mln tonnes, a month-on-month decline of 7.7% and a year-on-year decrease of 8.4%. Aquatic feed production is 1.09 mln tonnes, a month-on-month reduction of 41.9% and a year-on-year decline of 8.8%. Ruminant feed production takes up 1.34 mln tonnes, a month-on-month growth of 9.5% and a year-on-year increase of 25.3%.
From January to November 2020, China’s feed production amounts to 228.70 mln tonnes, an increase of 9.5% from a year earlier. Owing to a sustained recovery in hog population, hog feed production takes up 77.14 mln tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%. Hog feed production in the first eleven months this year recovered to 81% of the production in 2017 and 2018 of the same period. Egg-laying poultry, table poultry and ruminant feed production is 31.35 mln tonnes, 85.16 mln tonnes and 11.47 mln tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%, 12.0% and 15.1%, respectively; while aquatic feed production is 20.25 mln tonnes, a decline of 5.0% from a year earlier.
II. Price
Feed prices are broadly higher, as bulk feedstock prices move higher, bolstered by a rise in corn prices and an uptrend in soybean meal prices. Mixed batch prices climb 7.3-8.8 percentage points from a year earlier; concentrated feed prices advance 3.9-9.4 percentage points from a year earlier; and additive premix prices grow 0.1-2.8 percentage points from a year earlier.
