China’s Rapeseed Crush Weekly (Week 2, 2021)

As operation rates continue declining in coastal China this week (Jan 9-15), rapeseed crush in 101 domestic mills surveyed by Cofeed is 43,000 tonnes, down 8,000 tonnes or 15.69% from 51,000 tonnes last week. Of it, imported rapeseed is 43,000 tonnes (meal 23,650 tonnes and oil 18,490 tonnes). Meanwhile, the operation rate (capability utilization) goes down to 8.58% from 10.18% last week, of which it is 0% for domestic rapeseed; and it goes to 20.82% from 24.7% last week for imported rapeseed in coastal regions. As oil mills resume production, the crush is predicted to pick up to 56,000 tonnes and 61,000 tonnes in the next two weeks, respectively.
