China imported 7.5237 mln tonnes of soybeans in December, down 2.0628 mln tonnes or 21.52% from 9.5865 mln tonnes in November and down 1.9649 mln tonnes or 20.71% from 9.4886 mln tonnes in December 2019, according to data from China’s Customs.

Jan-Dec soybeans imports total 100.327 mln tonnes, up 11.8686 mln tonnes or 13.42% from 88.4584 mln tonnes year on year.

In December, China imported 1.1771 mln tonnes of soybeans from Brazil, down 1.566 mln tonnes or 57.09% from 2.7431 mln tonnes in previous month and down 3.6555 mln tonnes or 75.64% from 4.8326 mln tonnes a year earlier. From January to December, China’s soybean imports from Brazil total 64.2776 mln tonnes, up 6.602 mln tonnes or 11.45% from 57.6756 mln tonnes year over year.

In December, China imported 5.8362 mln tonnes of soybeans from the U.S., down 204,800 tonnes or 3.39% from 6.401 mln tonnes in the previous month and up 2.7965 mln tonnes or 92.00% from 3.0397 mln tonnes a year earlier. From January to December, China’s soybean imports from the U.S. total 25.8876 mln tonnes, up 8.9973 mln tonnes or 53.27% from 16.8903 mln tonnes year over year.

In December, China imported 131,400 tonnes of soybeans from Argentina, down 365,600 tonnes or 73.56% from 497,000 tonnes in the previous month and down 1.1735 mln tonnes or 89.93% from 1.3049 mln tonnes a year earlier. From January to December, China’s soybean imports from Argentina total 7.4557 mln tonnes, down 1.3355 mln tonnes or 15.19% from 8.7912 mln tonnes year over year.

In December, China imported 41,400 tonnes of soybeans from Russia, down 17,100 tonnes or 29.23% from 58,500 tonnes in the previous month and down 58,600 tonnes or 58.60% from 100,000 tonnes a year earlier. From January to December, China’s soybean imports from Russia total 693,000 tonnes, down 38,400 tonnes or 5.25% from 731,400 tonnes year over year.
